You are invited to join a once a month Mindfulness practice, from 4 – 5 p.m. in the Guanajuato Room of the Ashland Branch Library, 410 Siskiyou Boulevard, on the following Sundays: April 9, May 21, June 11, July 9, August 13 and September 17.
Practicing Mindfulness increases your feeling of satisfaction in life. It can also increase your ability to be calm and centered, instead of worried or anxious. It may also help relieve stress, chronic pain, and reduce blood pressure. The Sunday Mindfulness practices will include a combination of seated and walking meditation, a short explanation of mindfulness and other meditation techniques, and sharing about practice.
Certified Yoga Therapist, Charlotte Nuessle will lead the group. She has 26 years of experience in teaching transformative tools such as yoga, meditation, and personal development. If you wish to delve further into the subject you can consider the optional reading material: Radical Acceptance: Embracing Your Life with the Heart of A Buddha, by Tara Brach; Loving-Kindness: The Revolutionary Art of Happiness, by Sharon Salzberg; Full Catastrophe Living, by Jon Kabat-Zinn; or Hardwiring Happiness, by Rick Hanson.
This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Ashland Public Library. For more information, please call the Ashland Branch Library at 541-774-6996 or visit jcls.org.
