“Laugh With Lucy” - Comedies Staring Lucille Ball
Lucille Ball once said, “I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.” Through tears, talent, and determination she worked her way up to being The Queen of Comedy. This brilliant redhead has left us all a little better off for the joy she brings. Join us Wednesdays in August for “Laugh With Lucy”, a celebration of the comedies of the hilarious Lucille Ball. Admission and refreshments are free, courtesy of the Talent Library Club. Movies will start at 2:00 p.m. at the Talent Library, 101 Home St.
August 16 –The Fuller Brush Girl: Scatterbrained Sally Elliott’s (Lucille Ball) attempts at being a Fuller Brush girl selling cosmetics door-to-door are met with disaster after disaster. The plot thickens when one of her customers is murdered and she is fingered as the prime suspect. She must follow the killer’s trail while avoiding the police in order to catch the true culprit. August 23 – The Long, Long Trailer: A newlywed couple (Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz) encounter a series of delightfully disastrous adventures after choosing a trailer as their first home. (1953 / 96 min. / NR)
August 30 – Yours, Mine and Ours: After a widower (Henry Fonda) with ten children falls for a widow (Lucille Ball) with eight they are faced with hilarious challenges in merging into one huge messy family. (1968 / 111 min. / NR)
