The Martian: Bring Mark Back Home
You are Mark Watney's only chance for survival...

Your Mission: Mark Watney's job was to build a new community on Mars. Two years later, everyone has collapsed from a strange illness and now he is alone! Attend the White City Library's 4-H activities and help him survive. Play the role of a NASA communications specialist, aeronautical engineer, and university chemist. The 4-H Youth Development Team will teach you how to use science, intuition, and strategy to guide Mark through critical decisions and solve problems that will keep him alive. Mark's life is in your hands as he fights to survive the brutal conditions on Mars. Accept this 4-H mission and bring Mark home!

Pre-registration encouraged to reserve your space.Missions kick off at the White City Branch Library, 3143 Avenue C.

Age 4-9, 1:00 - 1:45 p.m.

Age 9-12, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Monday, August 7: Mission Accomplished - Younger youth will use the LEGO WeDo kits to program a way for Mark to get back to earth safely. Older youth will send Mark home wearing a health tracking device. To complete these challenges, kids must work together to design, build, and refine their respective device. Share this with Mark before time runs out!
