Windows in Time Lecture: Hanley Family Adventures

Windows in Time Lecture: Michael Hanley and His Friends

Join Pat Harper, Archivist for Southern Oregon Historical Society, in her exploration of the Hanley family photographs, postcards, letters and documents that chronicle their lives in distant places. This seventh lecture in the Windows in Time local history series will be given Wednesday, July 12 at the Ashland Branch Library, 410 Siskiyou Boulevard, from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. at both locations.

“Hanley Family Adventures,” is a tale of travels by Ed Hanley, Ella Hanley, and their nieces will be presented by Pat Harper for the July 2017 Windows in Time series. Not content to remain in Oregon, Ed Hanley made his fortune through his partnership with the more famous Jack Dalton in Alaska. Ella moved to Chile with her husband, Harry P. Bush. The Hanley sisters, Mary, Martha and Claire, had their own adventures, including an adventurous trip to Guatemala in 1949.
