Join local author Sue DeMarinis for a talk about her latest book with ties to a local resident who lived to tell the story. Hidden in Haarlem takes the reader on an unimaginable ride through the true escapades hidden in ninety-five-year-old Johan’s memories. This survivor recounts his family’s participation in their deadly games of rebellion against the Third Reich. Acts of courage, to hide the persecuted or aid the Resistance, get personal when the Gestapo eventually comes for Johan and his stepbrother.
