Gold Miner's Daughter, the Life of a Young Girl in the Upper Applegate Valley (1903-1909), 18+ YRS
Come find out about living as a member of a mining family at the turn of the century in the Upper Applegate of Southern Oregon. This presentation is based on the book The Secret Diary of Emily: A Gold Miner's Daughter by C. Ellen Watts. Ms. Watts is the daugher of Uvena Emily Arnold, the actual gold miner's daughter in the story. An overview of this very interesting book will be presented along with the presenter's phone conversations with Ms. Watts about the story behind the writing of her mother's diary.
