Learn & Play with Jackson County Sheriff, 7-14 YRS
We teach kids about stranger danger and Internet safety...so why not include firearm safety? One of our Jackson County Sheriff Office Deputies will present the same steps taught in schools by the Resource Officers to help children know and remember to “Stop! Don’t Touch, Run Away, Tell a Grownup” if they ever find a firearm, so that curiosity does not take over. Kids will learn the difference between a real gun and toy gun, pretend and real life. Afterward, kids will have a chance to pretend with the Deputy in a Nerf battle. All toys provided; no outside toys allowed.
The program makes no value judgments about firearms. No firearms are ever used.
