Community Yoga, 13+ YRS
Join us for an all levels yoga class every 2nd and 4th Wednesday (except June 26). One of our two professional instructors, Dr. Rachel Stricker and Cassidy Acacia, will support you on your yoga journey. The Community Room will open at 8:45 and class will begin promptly at 9:00. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MAT.
Dr. Rachel Stricker is the owner of Elevate Medicine Collective in Jacksonville and lives in Ruch with her husband, sons, and two dogs. She has been teaching yoga for 15 years and a practicing naturopathic physician for 10 years. She received her yoga training at Authentic Yoga Teacher Training and Arizona Vedic Chant in Scottsdale, Arizona, and her naturopathic medical training at Sonoran University of Health Sciences in Tempe, Arizona. She is currently working on her PhD in the Quantum Science of Integrative Medicine through the University of Technology in Jaipur, India.
Cassidy Acacia has been on the yogic path for over 20 years and teaching since 2004. Her dynamic approach to yoga is a synthesis of her in depth studies of: Iyengar and Prajna Yoga, Ayurveda, Insight Mediation, kinesiology and poetry. Cassidy's classes focus on healthy alignment of the physical body and sensitive attunement to the subtle body. She brings a sense of humor, earthiness and clarity to her teachings as well as deep reverence for the practice. She weaves mantra, philosophy and elemental theory into her classes and private yoga sessions. In addition to weekly classes and teacher trainings, Cassidy has offered custom yoga classes for: HerbPharm's Herbaculture Internship Program, Rouge Farm Corps, the Living Ayurveda Internship at Banyan Farm, Herb Camp at Oshala Farm and The Hawthorn Institute, Williams OR. When she's not on her yoga mat or zafu, you might find her: backpacking, wildcrafting, making herbal medicine, listening to birds and practicing ancestral skills.
