Learn & Play with Jackson County Search and Rescue, 8+ YRS
We are lucky enough to live in an area with abundant outdoor activities. We can all experience the joy of hiking, swimming, and other watersports in our rivers and lakes, all within a short drive from school or home. However, we all know that these activities can come with certain risks. Join one of our Jackson County Sheriff Office Search and Rescue team as they provide a hands-on safety demonstration, including a sheriff's boat, on the appropriate use of safety equipment and how to react to potential water emergencies. The presention information is at about a 5th grade level. Afterward, the kids will get to "spray paint" a beach towel to take with them to help them remember what they have learned. All supplies provided.
