Surviving Victorian Social Graces, 12+ YRS

Surviving Victorian Social Graces, 12+ YRS

With the surge of Victorian literature on our screens and shelves, see if you can survive in society with calling cards, fan flirtation, and proper manners. Presenter Carolyn Kingsnorth will help you learn more about these rules and how to break them.

When Carolyn Kingsnorth moved to Jacksonville 20 years ago after a career in marketing management, she fell in love with the historical gold mining town and finally found a use for her BA in History.  She has spent much of her "retirement" creating activities, programs, tours, and events that share the stories of the miners, farmers, and merchants who settled the Rogue Valley.  She is currently a board member of the Southern Oregon Historical Society and President of Historic Jacksonville, Inc. In both capacities, her stated goal is to "bring history to life".  She frequently points out, "History is not the names, dates, places, and battles we may have learned for school tests. It's the people and their stories - they tell us why we are who we are."
