The Ashland Elizabethan Stage: Its Genesis, Development and Use, 18+ YRS

The Ashland Elizabethan Stage: Its Genesis, Development and Use, 18+ YRS

You are invited to the Ashland Friends of the Library celebration of National Friends of the Library Week, featuring a talk on the Ashland Elizabethan Theater by OSF actor Jonathan Luke Stevens.

A few days before his death, Angus Bowmer finished a series of chapbooks entitled “Shreds and Patches.” These books were written primarily for his festival actors as a passing on of his thoughts and knowledge about the Ashland Elizabethan Stage and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Long out of print and almost lost to history, these chapbooks have been recently uncovered. Chapbook #1, entitled “The Ashland Elizabethan Stage”, sets out to share the genesis, development and use of the Elizabethan stage from Angus’ point of view. For the first time ever, you will hear Angus’ personal learnings, teachings and vision for the Ashland Elizabethan Stage through his lens.
