This month:
A Lone Star State of Mind
Just about everyone knows the saying, "Everything's bigger in Texas," but regardless of how you feel about the veracity of that claim, what's undeniably true is that "Everything's different in Texas, " and that includes the music. Whether it's Texas Swing, Singer/Songwriter, Outlaw, Roadhouse Blues, or one of any number of other genres, if it was crafted in the Friendship State, it has its own unique flavor. Join us as our very own native Texan and former Country music station DJ Carrie Turney Ross takes a deep dive into what makes this music special, personal favorites, and some good stories.
How does region affect art? Does it? What's been your experience? Let's discuss it!
