Building Your Own Defensible Space, 12+YRS

Why are Southern Oregon's forests increasingly vulnerable to megafires — and what can you do about it? Join Southern Oregon Forest Restoration Collaborative's fire education team for this hands-on, one-hour program where you'll explore the science behind wildfire behavior, discover how homes actually ignite, and take action by building and evaluating your own defensible space model. Whether you live in a house, apartment, or mobile home, you'll walk away with real, practical steps you can take to protect your home and family. You'll also learn how to get involved with natural resource work and explore career pathways in fire and forest management. Come ready to build, think, and prepare.
