Ashland Library Art Salon: Claudia Law

Ashland Library Art Salon: Claudia Law

Local artists will discuss the evolution of their art over the years and present digital photos of their work on the last Sunday of each month in the Gresham Room at the Ashland Library.

This month Art Salon will feature art quilter, Claudia Law. Claudia has developed a life-long relationship with fabric. Color, texture, depth, movement, luminosity and creating the illusion of transparency are her focus. After decades of experimentation in other media, she found a medium to express herself and her art. That medium was quilting cotton. Claudia admires and embraces the discipline required in traditional piecing, but enjoys creating sophisticated color combinations, put together with traditional and experimental techniques. She now combine painting, 3-D fabric elements, beading, decorative stitching (hand and machine) and other multi-media treatments to create her art quilts.
