Smokey Bear Storytime

Smokey Bear will visit three Jackson County Library branches this spring with Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest Fire Prevention Officer, Sarah Uvodich. Children will enjoy a storytime with Uvodich, featuring the story of Smokey Bear, followed by a short activity and a visit with Smokey Bear.

All are welcome to enjoy these free storytimes:

  • Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shady Cove Branch Library, 22477 Highway 62.
  • Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. at the Prospect Branch Library, 150 Mill Creek Dr.
  • Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Point Branch Library, 239 West Main St.

Uvodich provides fire prevention education and outreach in the High Cascade District. She stresses that campfire safety and other precautions make all the difference in preventing wildfires. In addition to conducting patrols and checking campsites, Uvodich enjoys connecting with schools and libraries to teach fire safety and prevention. “I love working with kids,” shared Uvodich. “They get really excited to see Smokey Bear.”
