August 18: What can we do individually and collectively to minimize the climate threat our children will face? What we can do to address the existential threat posed by the climate consequences of global warming.

Presented by Dr. Alan Journet. After spending thirty years teaching biology and environmental science at Southeast Missouri State University, Dr. Alan Journet and his wife, Dr. Kathy Conway, relocated upon retirement to Southern Oregon. Here they built an energy efficient passive and active solar home in the Applegate Valley that is now net zero on energy production/consumption. They also established Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN - https://socan.eco) and serve as its co-facilitators. Alan frequently offers presentations and courses to community groups on various aspects of climate science.
