Rogue Reads: What is a Modern Family Anyway?

Rogue Reads: What is a Modern Family Anyway? Online

In Jacqueline Woodson's novels Red at the Bone, If You Come Softly, and Brown Girl Dreaming, we see that families come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and backgrounds. With only 46% of children in the United States living in a household with two married parents, over 1.5 million adoptive families in the U.S., and over three million children having at least one LGBTQIA+ parent, the modern family structure isn't very traditional! Join us to speak with a local expert on the types of nontraditional families common in the Rogue Valley, learn about family structures different than your own, and share your own experiences about what your modern family looks like.
