Be a Fire Safety Leader

Be a Fire Safety Leader

The Ashland Library is teaming up with Ashland Fire & Recue to provide fire safety information to children and teens at the fire station parking lot.

The portion of the event for children will be from 2-3 p.m. Children will get to see the fire engine (and even sit inside!), hold the fire hose, see fire fighters put on all their gear, and learn the basics of fire safety.

The portion for teens and tweens will be from 3-4 p.m. They will get to practice using a fire extinguisher, learn how to prevent fires, the best ways to put fires out when they happen, tips on packing a go-bag and more.

Please note, masks and social distancing are required to attend this program. This event will take place outdoors at Fire Station 1's parking lot (455 Siskiyou Blvd). The lot will be unavailable for public parking, so please plan accordingly. Due to distancing requirements, space is limited; first-come, first-served.
