Rogue Reads Take & Make: Three Sisters Garden, 18+ YRS
Pick up a Take & Make Kit with supplies to plan and start a Three-Sisters Garden. The kit will include corn, bean, and squash seeds, seed starter trays, potting soil, and instructions on how to plant a Three Sisters Garden. It will also provide information how these plants work together to help each other grow and on the significance of these food crops to many indigenous groups in North America.
The Rogue Reads adult title, Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, uses the Three Sisters Garden as an example of reciprocity. When planted together, the success of each type of plant leads to all three thriving.
Note: Growing a 3 Sisters Garden requires at least 6 square feet of growing space. Kits are available while supplies last.
