Take & Learn: Know Your Watershed, 18+ YRS

Take & Learn: Know Your Watershed, 18+ YRS

Our Know Your Watershed Kits invite you to deepen your knowledge and experience of the Bear Creek Watershed. Get to know the water that flows around our communities and how you can support the ecological processes that make our watershed vibrant. The kit will include directions for an interactive guided hike with interpretive materials to take your exploration far into the soil and bedrock and higher into the canopy. Kit materials will invite personal reflection on relationships/partnerships with place and how to deepen that relationship through community involvement.

“Action on behalf of life transforms. Because the relationship between self and the world is reciprocal, it is not a question of first getting enlightened or saved and then acting. As we work to heal the earth, the earth heals us.” ― Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants

This kit is offered as part of a partnership between Jackson County Library Services and the Southern Oregon University Environmental Education graduate program. Kits available while supplies last.
