Poetry Reading: Treasures

Poetry Reading: Treasures

Four local poets will read their works and answer questions about the treasured words, images, and memories they use to create their poetry.

Dan Kaufman lives near Jacksonville. Active in the Rogue Valley poetry community, his writing has appeared in print and online and has been recognized by the Oregon Poetry Association.

Kathy Pyle moved to Jacksonville from Iowa in 1996. She has a background in science-based field education programs, marketing, journalism, and horticulture. Her special poetic passion is for the natural and human history of this area.

Lisa Baldwin is a fifth-generation native Oregonian, who works as a poet and freelance writer, an editor and publisher, a teacher, a literary consultant, and a poetry evangelist.

Steve Dieffenbacher is a poet and travel writer, whose full-length book of poems The Sky Is a Bird of Sorrow won a ForeWord Reviews 2013 Bronze Award for poetry and his poem, “Emptiness,” was the winner of the 2010 Cloudbank poetry prize.
